I posted my 1990 modified Blazer K5 on craigslist in hopes of getting a bike for better gas mileage but I had a guy with a '91 Wrangler Sahara ask me about a trade. Below I have posted the two ads on craigslist, mine and his. He is asking $5k for his jeep, its clearly not worth that much, and I at first was looking to get around $4k for my Blazer. Dont know much about jeeps but If we are going to trade I want it to be straight up or thats it, i dont want to drop any money. What I am asking is if this is reasonable or if I would need to fork over some dough to make it fair.

I hate to sell it but... I dont get much use out of her anymore.

imo, you'd be getting hosed. the jeep can't haul anything, can't tow much, has about as much cargo and passenger room as a cereal box, and won't get you much (if any) better mpg. offroad, you'll be able to fit through smaller holes...wow. jeeps have pretty lame articulation and lifting them can be a b!tch because the rear d-shaft angle is already so steep. i'd say the only real advantages are that they have factory crossover steering and removing the top is slightly (:haha:)easier.

i wouldnt do it man...not just cause "its a jeep" but cuz it probably wont be noticeable difference in gas mileage, plus...its ur blazer man!

I am not really looking to save in mpg here. I am still going to get a bike. Im just looking for something different. I know jeeps, or should i say j**ps arent appreciated around here but again, I have had the blazer for a while and the jeep might be a little more practicle thats all. The blazer is huge with this lift and 37's, lets be honest.

Jeep makes it easier to wheel hard trails without dragging the sides of the Blazer all across everything . Jeep 1

More bolt ons for Jeeps , more fabbing FUN for the Blazer . Blazer 1

You can make babies in a Blazer , a Jeep has a small backseat . Blazer 2

Exhaust note is macho on the Blazer . Blazer 3

You can easily skirt the rules and haul twice as much as rated with the Blazer . Blazer 4 .

So I see Blazer 4 , to Jeep 1 .

 Maybe thats why they put Chevy drivetrains and stretched tubs in Jeeps as an UPGRADE

Hey! I will go against the flow here. That looks like a nice clean Jeep. It is ovious you want to get rid of your Blazer, beings you have it for sale. If you want something different go for it. 4.0s are a good strong engine. 116 k miles is nothing. If well maintained. they commonly go 200K miles. Looks like a well set up fun little rig. Plus it has the hard top. Check the rear axle. A lot of Saharas came with D44s /track loc
You can always make babies out in the woods:thumb:

If I were you and I wanted a j**p ( which I don't ) I wouldn't get a YJ. I would get a CJ or a TJ

With what decent Jeeps are bringing on ebay, I would do it if I wanted out of my K5. Right now is not a good time to sell anything with a V8 in it. If that Jeep is as nice as it looks and sounds from the pics you will get more money out of it then you will your K5. A friend of mine just sold a rotted out YJ that would not pass PA inspection due to rust for over $1600 on ebay and it was a 4 cyl.

I thought many times of ditching the truck and getting a heap. Everytime I have been ready to do that I always end up needing the truck for something. Also I personally don't care for most of the Jeeper groups I have associated with, to elitist and exclusive for my personality. And the final reason I never did is just how cool it is to wheel a monster sized machine down trails that Heepers say a fullsize doesnt belong!

Well i dont plan on making babies any time soon so thats ok with me. And its not like I am trying to get rid of the blazer. I love it, it is a rugged truck. But, I did put it up for sale for the right price. I bought the thing for $2,200. I figured if this is a good deal I might as well take it. And like Thunder said, I might be able to get more out of the jeep if I were to sell that than my blaze. Thanks for the input guys

I vote go for it too. I love K series trucks, but if you're looking for something different, that jeep looks pretty decent. I have an XJ in addition to my K10 and I have to say, the 4.0 is a great engine. Mine has 212K and no problems whatsoever and nothing ever done to it but oil changes, plugs, filters, etc. True the 4.0 is no toyota prius when it comes to fuel mileage (I get 18mpg), but jeeps have a ridiculous following. When it comes time to sell the jeep, it should bring more than the blazer, especially nowadays. True, square headlight jeeps are less valuable than round, but anything with a jeep tub will almost always bring more than it is worth.
