Ok so i got a small leak in my return line on my 94 chevy TBI

do you think a parts store would carry them?? Every person i've talked to says theirs has a steel braided line but mines a hard line from the tank on both the return and pressured line

Just need to get this thing fixed before i get a fire :eek1: I've since parked it and am driving the beater :doah:

There are a couple sections of fuel line on the vehicle. At what point does the line have a leak (near the tank, near the engine, along the frame rail)?

that would be the section that goes from the TB to about the fuel filter. Can't seem to find anything online but who knows exactly what to freakin put for that. I even looked in my LMC book :(

My stepdad said that they may have put some little plastic clips to hold it together :dunno: He used to work at NAPA so i figure he may know what to get

The fuel lines that attach to the TBI unit are hard lines that turn into steel braided just behind the passenger side head and go to the frame rail where there is a threaded connection to the hard line on the frame rail, from there it is a solid hard line to the fuel filter where that is a threaded connection to the filter, then on the back side of the filter it is a hard line to just on top of the fuel tank where there is another threaded connection to a steel braided line that attaches to the sender.

If there is a hole or split in the hard line anywhere you can always cut out the bad section and use a union to connect the two pieces rather than trying to buy a whole new line.

Ok so i got off early and got to work. Got it fixed but it's a temp fix til i can get another line.

For the record i was wrong. It goes hardline from TB to a factory crimped rubber hose to metal line in the same area where the filter for the pressured line is ;)

Problem: The body (firewall) has a place sticking down i guess where they welded to halves together :dunno: Anyhow it rubbed a hole in my fuel line. I guess i had it in a bind one too many times and maybe the motor or tranny mounts are bad allowing it to rub the body. Either way i found the leak.

I tried to get to a parts store but the closest one open after noon is about 20 minutes away  So i went to a hardware store where i bought 2 (one just in case later ;)) 3/8's compression fittings or unions w/e you want to call them. Wrong size. Went back and luckily they were still open and took the linein and test fit them. They had nothing to fit it  so i just bought 2 hose clamps and fixed it that way. It IS only a return so no pressure.

Plus it's temporary. Tomorrow i plan on the hunt. It's late and i'm freakin tired.

So thanks for the help
