I HAVE A CHANCE TO GET A 95 DODGE DANA/SPICER 60 FOR $250...

WILL THE COIL SETUP AXLES THIS NEW STILL FIT AND IS IT WORTH PUTTING IT IN BECAUSE I BELEIVE THESE AXLES WERE BALL JOINTS AND
NOT A KING PIN SETUP?

this will go into a 84 k5...

THANKS
CHRIS

just noticed all caps sorry, at work were everything is caps.... will fix next time

I would pass on the Ball Joint set-up for my own use But, I would probly snag it anyway if its in good shape, just to re-sell it.

How much weaker is the balljoint model vs the king pin models?

I was always under the impression they were a little weaker but still far superior to a dana 44.

It depends on the intended use. Ball joints are better for the road/street, and King pins are better for offroad conditions. Way stronger than a 44........Its still a 60.

now this is a coil sprung with arms... i think i would be able to cut and put on new perches ...but isn't one built into the housing? and did they still have these or did you know.

95 is going to be drivers drop, with CAD.

Ditto. Also unit bearing hubs and no lock-outs. I also know Dodge had some weird spline count shafts in various year D60's (maybe 32-spline inners???), but I do not know the specifics...just something to at least look for.

Balljoints, unit bearings, central axle disconnect, no hubs, needs new axleshafts= probably not worth it unless you plan to put it in a Dodge from the years it came out of.

You would be better served to wait till you found a normal D60 with lockouts. Balljoint vs. Kingpin isn't a deal killer if the price is right.
