96 Donzi Classic 22

I love the cam in that motor, it's just a smooth rotating assembly.... 496's scream, but that motor just has a calm snot about it... ;)

throw in the cool plenum! :saweet: be grateful it isn't freshwater cooled (ok, that's a lie :whistle2:) but with the heat exchanger package, you have to pull the plenum to check fuel pressure.. :doah: no big, just a bit dickyier than later 496's, 6.2's, etc... easy peezy on that raw setup tho...

you have ANY questions on ANYTHING in that drivetrain, ask, from prop to flame arrestor, I know WAY too much minutia about these mills/drives... :doah: :haha:

this was, and will be, a freshwater boat?

Fresh water only, as far as I know. And will stay that way. Raw water cooled I think.

You will definitely get lots of questions! I’m good with motors, I/o drives are new to me.

Shows up a week from Monday.

.

yeah, a freshwater package, as opposed to raw, would have a heat exchanger and antifreeze in the block... and 37 hoses to plumb da chit.. ;) lake water solves that prob..

it will also help tremendously with those ss elbows... your not immune, but the reason they tend to fail is dissimilar material to the manifolds.. the elbows stay nice, but the manifolds rot below them.. the joint fails, water meet spark plug.. but freshwater will slow that process down 10fold...

The broker I hired to ship this thing is terrible.

I’m now dealing with the owner of the brokerage, but he still sucks. Getting the run around.

I do have a phone number for the carrier and warehouse, but they are difficult.

Latest update is that it was supposed to hit the road yesterday.

Grrrrr.

Just in a bad spot.

Fu©kin' guys, we will get it sorted out.

If I knew the guy was at his office, and not out of town, i'd be looking for resources to go confront this broker in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, FL.

Luckily, the logistics company currently holding the boat is in communication. That will be a last resort, but they are responsive and still have the boat.

we have 2 or 3 really consistent pro transporters we use all the time.. repo boat's going to Fla, etc... full-time boat haulers.. but we get other kooks now and then dropping whatever POS off at the marina hired by whoever....

Yah. I thought this guys was one of the pros. I thought wrong.

Broker agreed to give me my boat back. Huge weight lifted from my shoulders.

Brian is a life saver again, and is hopefully picking it up today.

Let's try this again!

Paul, which haulers do you consider pro's?

Want to at least get a quote from them.

Happy Friday!

I might have to have you owe me if miss the start of the Cubs playoff game tonight.

Haha, I won't, that's what the DVR is for....

Oh yeah it's my 5 yr anniversary today to...
Lol, no worries Mrs beags is cool with it. Our plans were only the cubs game tonight....

well, my haulers are exactly that, relatively local haulers with nice rigs, etc... not big companies..

but, I'll ask my one boss over the weekend if one of them, or him, has a good recommendation.... he's our repo/sales guy and set's up all that hauling, yada, stuff... where is the boating going from/to?

No offense @dhcomp.

New found respect for @ryoken .
Boats bring the suck. You couldn't pay me enough to be a boat mechanic.
Yeah me neither!

That boat is sweet! I hate working on boats but I still like them and every now and then I start to think about getting one... especially when I see something like this! Very nice man!

I think I can manage that on my own.

If you want to try a pull test with it. I will gladly let you hold the end of the rope while you are sitting in the water.

How fast do you think it will be going when it hits you in the back of the head after I let go of it? Lol

I must admit that after looking at this and pullin' it around I am starting to get weak in the knees for it. I am sure that the 400hp big block in the back helps that too.

When I picked it up I pulled it a mile or so and pulled off in a parking lot to double check the trailer, (hitch, wires, chains) ( I always do this to any trailer)
When I was going to get back in the truck some older lady walking by says "nice boat, beautiful day to be on the water"...

Of course I'm thinking "doh,D'oh.jpg It's not my boat"

Haha.
Maybe some day....
