I'm looking for some help figuring out some noises my trucks making. When I jack up the rear wheels and spin them there is a squeaking noise coming from the Transmission. It sounds like squeaky brakes. Also, there is another squeaking noise coming from the drive shaft. It sounds more like a rubber bushing squeak. The truck is a 99 K1500 reg cab, 4x4. 145000 miles. I don't know much about the service history because I just got it. Thanks in advance.

i have changed tons of u-joints on the rear shaft in the 99-up trucks.

pull the shaft and check the joint movement by hand and go from there.

also the seal on the slip for the driveshaft yoke goes in the tranny or tcase can make a squeaky noise when spinning real slow on the slip yoke.

just told a guy thursday his driveshaft was ready to fall out on a 99-up. was at a place he drove in to and parked. he didnt know what the noinse was. and was glad i told him.

The U-joints were the only thing I could think of. The noise is so loud people look at me when I drive by. The seal is leaking a little so I will just change it too. Any idea about the Transmission noise?
