Got a couple of minutes tonight before my boys birthday cake to get a little more welding done. It would be nice If could get this done tomorrow. That way I can work on the straps and skid this weekend. I so want to be done with the tank. It’s too tall to work off my back and not really tall enough to sit up. Kinda in a suck position.

Well, the plan is going good so far. I was able to talk my partner into a 4 day, so I spent most of it in the garage. Ended up doing one run to the metal supply to pick myself up a 4x8x1/4” for the skid. I just hate paying for a cut charge, so I took the entire sheet. :)

On with some pics.

In the spirit of what I usually do.......

And this is really a minor thing. But if you put a bolt through the top of the frame it would tie that leg of the frame in. It would add some redundancy too. Gas tank crossmember redundancy of bolts is good.

Looks awesome though Mike. I'm way excited for you to get this running and driving

Nice eye, Brother. :waytogo:

That’s pretty much what I have planned. A bunch of holes need to be made to mount the shackle flips completely, so I’ll just knock em all out when the tub comes off again.

Feels good to fab again! :saweet:

no doubt.. I'm bangin as best as i can on a limited budget.. but Mutt will suck up as much labor as I can throw at it.... anxious to burn some alum....

just think, you're 73% done! :saweet: :woot:  :doah:  :haha:

I’ll just meet ya out there again and keep plugging along. ;)

Someday.....:waytogo:

No update since Thursday?

I thought this was making progress?

Man, I’m trying. This gas tank project sucks balls. Got a couple of hours in after work this week, then yesterday all to get 6 bolts hanging down from the frame. Finally got there last night and realized that my grade 8’s that I have in the garage didn’t have enough threads on them to hold the gas strap, then nut, 1/4 skid and nut again. I made a late run to Depot last night to pick up fully threaded bolts for today.

Just filling up with powar fuel.... Bacon.. and I’ll be out there again.

Not much for pics so far....
