Some no phone, progress....
Last Friday I was mixing up some mortar to set some steps. Next thing ya know, my phone went into the cleaning bucket filled with water. Now I've been tied to that thing like no tomorrow, as I'm sure some of you can relate.
I could have went in the last three days for a new one, but I had a better plan. Don't grab the new phone and take Monday and Tuesday off too. The plan has been to work on the rig strait through, a lot of it would be just finishing out so many small things. A bolt that never went in correctly, a fabbed part that just needed some more love.
Not a lot of pics, due to no phone and the iPad kinda sucks for those duties. But, I gotta few.
Last Friday I went up and talked to Jess. Job site was about two miles from HAD. We were bs'ing about the ebrake. The first thing he said was, " you're not using a lokar, are ya?".......
I'm sure my face went pale, as I started thinking how much work went into that handle to make it work. After a big gulp of pride and a "Yep, sure am", he explained how it was only a 1:1 and I should be looking for a 2:1. He ran through the math real quick using my 4:10's and basically said I should be able to get about 8k worth of holding power with another handle.... Well low and behold, he had one sitting on a shelve. It's a military one just like I have on the camp trailer. Not only did he give me that, he also gave me a cable that had been sitting on the shelve for years.
After totally reframing the underside of the console. Here we have it. It sits a little higher, as the cable comes out the bottom, but not too bad. The plan was always to use some cordura for around the shifter and on top of the lid, so I don't think it will be too noticeable. Besides, this thing is badass. So much more heavy duty than the Lokar one. I have almost a 1/2" or more of play just by twisting the knob.

And onto the cable....Made a mount off the back of the 205.

And a little HAD bling.....been waiting for this day. Lol

I also hooked up the shifter linkage. That took awhile... No matter how I adjusted the cable ends or the detent area, I could get park, but no 1st, or 1st with no park. I ended up threading the cable back another 3/4", cutting off 1/2" with the grinder, and boom. It all works.

That's all I have for now. Heading back out in a bit to remove all the cables to get the console back on the bench for final welding and double shear seat belt tabs. Should e fun....
