Well I got my 33's on and I got the head gasket fixed and the engine all together. So, I go for my first run with big(to me) tires and its pretty cool but I am wondering why my truck shakes so bad when I accelerate. It did it mildly before but the tires have seemed to make the problem worse. This doesn't happen at high speeds or when I am coasting. What could it be? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

can U say balance and align? + fix all the stuff you find loose/worn before the alignment. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Sounds like they need to be balanced and alligned or replace worn out parts like matty said /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Are you talking about wheel hop? Common when accelerating and the larger tires would make the problem worse. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

definetally sounds nothing like balance and alignment but everything like bad u joints. What are you running as far as lift? Anything? When you accelerate the pinion tries to move on the truck which with some bad u joints could be causing the vibration.

I have no lift. Just 33's with stock everything. I know its not wheelhop cause the 305 doesn't have the power to spin em. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif I'm thinking the U joints sound about right.

Ok well I solved the mystery! Apparently I was only running on 6 out of 8 cylinders.... I knew I couldn't of lost *that* much power to 33's... /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif So I replaced a plug with a cracked insulator and taped up a wire and now she hits on all eight and feels MUCH better.

Better replace the wire as tape wont hold up very long and then you'll foul the plug and be right back where you started /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
