A newbs POV in Moab

If that's the one I'm thinking of, Fiesta Mexicana, we've always eaten there without a problem. I've actually always been impressed with the service. :dunno:

That is the one....let me tell the story:

This was on Saturday night. not much of a crowd there, we were seated quickly. I wasn't real hungry so I just ordered a quesadilla appetizer and a beer. Everyone else ordered at the same time. There were like 3 or 4 people periodically stopping by to check on us, so I'm not sure who brought the appetizer to the table, but it had quesadilla's and a couple other appetizers on it. This was a combo appetizer, that none of us figured out till later. We all thought this was mine because it had the quesadilla's on it, and no one else ordered an app.
Then someone brings us all our dinners, including my quesadilla app. When handed that plate, I asked what the one was earlier, and he said it was a mistake, and left the table. So we all progressed to take something off of it and eat. I ordered another beer, and a little more sour cream....quick service, nothing said about the mistake combo app. plate. We were all munching away at our dinners, and someone comes by to take our plates, I don't think anyone was finished at that point, but literally 2 minutes later another stops by and one of us handed him a plate after taking a last bite off of it, and he takes the combo plate. 2 minutes later another stops by to take another plate, I think Eric gave his up at that time. another 2 minutes and here comes another guy to ask again, I'm pretty much done, so I just hand him mine, and Brent literally had a mouth full of food, and he tries to take his plate. He wasn't done, so he left it, and a couple minutes later he comes back for it again. Now the food was good, and other than feeling rushed to take our plates it was a good meal....
As much of a hurry as they seemed, they didn't bring the check, so we asked for it maybe 5 minutes later, and it was totaled on one bill, and it was smeered so reading it all was impossible.
We decide to pay separately so we all head up to the cashier to get this bill figured out, and pay. 1st guy gets his total,

I'm next....

"I had the Quesadilla app. and 2 beers."
"Who is going to pay for the combo app.?"....
"Skuze me?"
"Someone needs to pay for the combo app."
"No-one ordered the combo app. and they said it was a mistake, and left it at the table."

Then we ask to talk with the manager. He was listening from 20' away to the whole thing.

"Did you eat the combo app.?"
"Yep we did, but they said it was a mistake, and left it at the table"
"Then you need to pay for it".
"Nope, NOBODY here is paying for that appetizer"
"If you ate it, and didn't send it back you need to pay for it"
"Nope that's not how it works, we'll pay for what we ordered, but not for a mistake that was delivered and then left at the table, and not picked up."
He was still adamant about somebody paying, so we had them just split the bill up, which they did wrong and charged me for the little cup of sour cream also, but we paid, I left a penny tip, and we left.

Now everytime we ate in Moab, I was very pleased with our food, service and even the eye candy, leaving a well deserved generous tip to show our appreciation while in their town. This particular incident was the exception to the custom of everyone else in town. The manager treated us like we were a PITA to deal with, and just wanted us gone.

I did make sure he knew that the next time I'm in Moab, and want Mexican food, I'll go to Taco Bell.

Isn't there a harder line to the right of rocker knocker? Two humps that play hell on wide variety of wheelbases if I remember correctly? Or am I huffin paint today? I'd try it in Chris' rig :D

There is, I tried it last year with my little 36's and leaves to no avail, MNorby tried it this with his truggy, made it to the same place I did, Marv tried it with his stickies and tube thing and came over backwards. Stephen walked it in the ORD flag buggy. Good Luck:D

I amazes me sometimes how stupid business owners/managers can be sometimes. So the get all this bad press over an $8 appetizer.

My good friend is a local in Moab, he says to never eat there. Moab brewery or McStiffs is where I usually go.

I don't remember ever trying McStiffs. We liked the Moab Diner.

I really liked Jax, and Mr. Jays??? (The italian place on main) I suck at remembering names of places....

Zax and Pasta Jay's :D

Zax is my favorite. Moab Brewery is good, too; so is McStiffs.

We've had good luck at that very same Messican joint in the past, though... :dunno:

Pasta Jays, Thanks again Jim....like I said about the Fiesta Mexicana...good food, just I think the manager handled it all wrong. It wasn't like we were bad customers or anything....I just tripped their trigger on something I guess.

Pasta Jays, Thanks again Jim.....

"Jim" - I've been called many things, but that's a new one :D

Maybe I should drag up my old "Lowrider" handle again - that helped clear up confusions on the first Blazer Bash - cheers, michael

Uh, yeah sorry bout that MIKE....that JMS just seems like Jim to me....

Reading the story doesn't give it justice...you have to hear it first hand:popcorn::haha:

Had to be if Thornbirds where in!:D

For sure!

I ran Pritchett back around 2002 with just a 4" lift, 33's and a locker in the rear. That wouldn't happen anymore.

One example would be look at the difference between the rockpile 8 years ago and now:

I bet at least 3' of that obstacle has eroded since then.
