let me know what ya think

Well if its banged up id say its a good idea, maybe there will be a crack under there over time, im the type of guy that get new things but if i can a get a good deal for something in good condition ill take it, have you checked pirate4x4, theres a couple of guys parting blazers

I've used orielys and auto zone fuel tanks. They both have held up well. No problems with fitment or with the sending unit.

I just ordered my new one tonight from www.classicparts.com It was about $115 with shipping. They have a 10% off what ever you order till the end of the month. Promo code is THANKS10.

I got mine from Spectra as well, excellent tank! It stood up to plenty of abuse before I was able to locate a factory skid plate for my truck

Anybody ever use the ones from classic parts? I hope I didn't order a peice of ****.. I order a couple of things from them before and I was happy. I hope I can say the same for the tank..

With fuel injection, the baffles are especially important. The performance of the stock (plastic) tank baffles can't be beat, but they also have a tendency to break apart and maybe ruin the fuel sender in the process. Most aftermarket tanks use welded steel baffles that are far simpler. You can get fuel starving under acceleration or climbing. That's what mine does, so I just make sure I will stay over 1/4 tank for wheeling. I can't tell you which brands have better baffles then others.

I guess im happy with the purhase then. I get leary ordering from Autozone sometimes cause I know they carry a lot of cheaply made products

paint the tank?

just got the tank in and it looks pretty good. now should i paint this to keep from rusting or will it retain its natural finish without getting rusty looking

I never painted either of mine, and I dont see any signs of rust. Probably wouldn't hurt it to spray it.

I didn't paint my tank. It came with a nice tin coating. Did you get the Spectra Premium? Is yout tank also stamped with made in Canada?

Yes to both. Its a nice tank. Its got this sticky coating on it not sure what it is but I was thinkin of washing it down and goin flat black on ot

I finally got my tank yesterday from classic parts. It looks really nice except for a couple of small dings from UPS. I was expecting it to be bare metal but, it looks like it has a silver coating on it. Should I go ahead and paint/under coat it?

Any one else having the problem of getting their original tank strap to fit the spectra premium? I had to rebend mine some.

I read an article somewhere maybe on this site that people with the after market straps had the same problem. They mentioned that they were made a bit short
