I just got done painted/installing my diy4x bumper and swing(its not a ud1 either:D )but I just thought of something. I put my liscence plate on with some wire for now till I can fab something up but what about the light? What are you guys running aftermarket bumpers doing about that? Do you have to have it in texas?I think I could make a bracket for it(i kept the stocker) but id rather not. any input would be great.Ill post pictures later this weekend, its going to busy: swap in my 4 inch alcans, take zero rates out of back, cut new shackles for all the way around, f250 shock towers, new longer shocks all the way around, crossmember for the 203, and stinger for the front...i should have a smile all weekend

My plan for mine was to get a small white set of LED lights to go into my rear bumper. You can pick them up from Autozone or most of the other auto parts stores for cheap. They are small, only use two screws to mount, and provide plenty of light. Plus they last for a long time.

Funny you should mention this I built my bumper on the back of the 77 (cant seam to find pics) and put in one of those little dome shaped lic. plate lights. They are required to be there and work. But the light sits up higher than the plate by about 1/4" and does NOT light up the plate. I got pulled over one night for it, cop said your plate light is out. I said can I check it a wire might be loose. Well the light was on it just didnt light up the plate. Cop said you know there has to be one on there and it has to work, but I dont remember anything about it not lighting up the plate. Sorry to bother you have a nice night.:haha: I dont plan on fixing it either and havent been pulled over for it again.

Ohh, nice bling. Worth checking out:D

Hmmm $20. Not too bad but enough to consider

Beats getting pulled over by the cops for no license light right after leaving the bar.......

Just go to any Volkswagen shop and buy a bracket/ light kit for a Baja Bug. $15 and it mounts easily.

i like that one. I bought one that plugs into the facotry plug and rigged something up but it didnt light up, so I am going to do one like that and wire it into the tailights. thanx for the pictures, i like the leds but I know you can get that one for like 4 bucks at advanced autoparts.got the crossmember and shackles down tonight, tommorow dive into it head first.
