Until I joined here I had never heard of this kit does anyone run it and what do you think about it?
Troy, Welcome aboard as a new mwmber. If you don't already know, CK5 members get a discount when they purchase from AZ-Kickin' Off Road Supply. The guys runnin the AK-57 or Springer Suspension are probaly all out wheelin today but they will answer later.
if you didn't know- 45acp MAKES the kit /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
I don't have the setup but I like the idea of it and am interested in someday upgrading to it.
welcome aboard. i own the springer setup. have yet to run it in over a year, but thats nother story.
i also have a frine, Or2play, who has the only burban to run the springer setup. spring sold the rights to AZ-kikn. they are now making it with a very few slight changes. changes that marv_springer incorperated in the last springer setup, owned by K5Nutt. the new changes were cool, and i may call up az kickn to get them. dunno yet.
the flex is amazing. the ride is great, even on brians burban. i dontknow if AZ Kickn is offering the kit without the track bar or not. i didnt get it. but after riding in a righ without one and then riding in the same burban with it on, GET IT.
its an awesome system. i give it 3 thumbs up.
look in my members rides section for some pics.
The track bar is also included in the kit/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
Ya, the track bar is a must. Big difference. What changes did Marv make in Doug's system anyways?
Alot of good info in this post.
Oh yea,I have been running this setup for a few years and its one of the best and easiest mods I have done /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I got mine in the mail the other day and I am really impressed with the quality and craftsman ship of all the parts. Looks really hevy duty. I cant wait to get it put on my truck.
track bar? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Derek, The track bar is included in the kit and has rod ends that fasten to one u-bolt and runs forward to the other side and forward to fasten to the frame rail. Both ends use rod end joints and stabilize the axle for good street manners without effecting the articulation.
any pics of that setup?
Check out their website http://www.azkickin.com/home.htm
track bar I meant
yeah I cant really picture the track bar setup, anyone got a pic of that?
Hey,whats with the Ford emblem on the back of that thing /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif?
Here's a couple of fuzzy pics of the track bar. These are old shots of bad quality, but you should get the general idea..... Basically, it runs from one axle springpad diagonal and forward to the frame on the opposite side where the front spring mount is...
If I take the trackbar off while im offroad will the truck run better or not?
For sure the track bar will not limit travel up to 24-28" of articulated tire movement.... Some guys have stretched a little more out of the system, and at that point it may start to limit you - but I don't think it's worth it. Besides, at that point other "limits" start coming in to play like fenderwell interference, etc....
