Just got an ulnar nerve moved and 2 carpal tunnels. Lots of staples.
yeowch I have carpal tunnel too. I haven't been to the doctor to about it but I did see my company's health dept and they're doing the heatpad and message routine every 2 days now... my second week into it again. I've had CT for 6 years, I didn't do anything about it then because the pain only comes and goes, depending on what I do, wrenching, stripping or crimping wires at work or even wrenching around on my Blazer. Now the pain is kinda unbearable, I can't even type as fast as I used to, so I'm considering getting my ass up and see a doctor soon. It's the cutting and stitching that I'm afraid of... I just don't have the stomach for it.
At least you got yourself fixed. Hopefully you'll start to feel better in a month or two once the nerves swell down. Nice pic of them stitches dude!
I just did that yesterday! Guess I'll have to post a pic tomorrow.
My hands were getting like they were asleep. I couldn't even turn off the clock radio in the morning. The staples on the elbow are where they moved my ulnar nerve. I'm glad I had it done. the carpal tunnel is nothing you can see the stiches on my wrist. The elbow thing kinda hurts tho. But nothing a few beers can't fix.
I feel you brother... I get a lot of popping in my wrists and some electricity jolts too.. sometimes my hands are numb when I wake up too... I guess I'll wait it out since I'm in the process of swapping out axles and springs. Plus AZ weather is cool for 4 wheeling and I'm itching to go out again. Guess I'll see the doctor when the temps hit 115 again.....
I'm not able to do anything for a couple of weeks. Its a good excuse to get some much needed rest.
sorry for the highjack...but care to explain your sig?
What's to explain???? I had day.
darn, i was hoping to have a good story to listen to....
ok, nothing to see here, move along
yeah, noone made a real big deal 'bout it. I did get a couple of remarks (the sig was to admit it before I got any crap) but they still did what they were supposed to.
Sounds like all those years of beating on the skins took it's toll, eh? I hope you feel better, my friend!!!
I just took a test on the nerves of the thoracic limb yesterday (among other things) so this surgery sparks my curiosity (I'm a first year verterinary medical student). Of course my test was on a dog but everything is pretty much the same from one species to another....for the most part. So what exactly did they do, as in where did they move it to? I'm assuming not far. Was it getting compressed over the elbow joint somehow during flexion? Were they able to leave all of its branches intact? Do you still have sensation on the lateral aspect of your 5th digit (outside of pinky finger)?
They take the ulnar nerve out of a groove on the elbow and move it to the inside of the arm. My ulnar nerve was pinched like an hourglass. I had lost sensation in my 4th and 5th fingers (ring finger and pinky). Doctors call the ulnar nerve gods mistake. I had the ulnar nerve transposed about one year ago on my right arm with good results. I can locate the nerve on my right arm by tapping my arm on the inner side near my body, makes it jump just like the knee with the rubber hammer.
There is some tingling and numbness and of course pain but it is for the better.
Hey Can K5 I'm getting ready to hit it again just completed my Ludwig Chrome O Wood set up
Finally took the bandage off. Feeling pretty good after 4 days.
You got the Ulnar Nerve thing also. Welcome to the club. I had my right done about 1 years ago and now the left.Really worked for me.
I see you are from Sarasota do you ever get down to this neck of the woods ?
Can you take staples out yourself??? I know you have to kinda dig a stiches after the swelling.
I think they have a remover ? ? Tell you on 11/28
Ok but if it's a pair of needle nose Imma be pissed...
I think they get a really powerful electro-magnet, crank it up and stand back
