Aluminum dash

Very nice, are the exsisting defrost ducts used? Do they attach to the
dash or?
But over all... I want one!!
 
The existing defrost ducts are re-used. When you cut out the factory dash, you leave an inch or so of it along the windshield. That strip holds the VIN tag and the factory defrost ducts. When the new dash is installed it slides over the top of the factory ducts. (just like the original dash pad) If you look closely at the second picture you can see the holes for airflow on the passenger side and a hint of them on the driver side. I believe there's a picture back a few pages that shows the area a little better on an earlier rendition.

What about speaker mounting? Can you do one with speaker holes as well? I do not want to run speakers in the door, I want to keep them in the dash.

Depends on the speaker. What are you using?

Currently it is the stock speakers in the dash. (or at least I think they are stock, They were in it when I bought the Blazer). I believe they are 3.5 in. I will probably replace them with aftermarket speakers of the same size when I replace the dash.

I want to be able to run tube doors in the summer, so seakers in the door are not an option.
 
Any thoughts of upgrading to a better quality speaker? it'd certainly be a good time.

Outside of that, I think a factory size speaker is doable. May depend on instrument layout and so forth but there is a little wiggle room.

Considering the text, and posts following, I'm gona have to go back and find an old pic to keep some kind of continuity.
 
1] Can you give rough dimensions of the left half face? I would like to cut out a card board template to play with different configurations. I want to run about 10 gauges and am wondering if [8] 2 1/16 and [2] 3 3/8 would fit, while still allowing for A/C, vent, radio, etc...

See crude idea below - (lines are only to space out layout)

2] Also, are A/C vents able to go anywhere, or are they limited to certain basic areas of dash? Any pics available of factory to after market connections?

3] Ever figure out any 12 volt solutions yet?

I can get some face dimensions today. I'll post them up. Gona be tight for that many gauges. AC vents are pretty movable. Just got to have decent clearance on the backside.

I'll try to get a pic of the connection. Pretty straight forward.

12v plug is a matter of finding something that looks nice. I have some that I've been using in my rigs over the years and cannot find them available anywhere. They are a panel mount with an OD nut on the back side, spring loaded cover that is nice and clearly labeled. All I've been able to find so far is a flange mount.
 
Yep, I'll be adding them very soon. It's alot of data entry for both the accounting software and website, part numbers, Bill of materials and yada yada.
