i specifically got a 90' gmc front to go on my chev. imho it looks better with those big red letters. exspecially the 89-91

'81-'88, and '89-'91 is kind of an odd way to split them up.

A better way to split them up would be as follows:

'81-'82
'83-'84
'85-'88
'89-'91

Also, not all 1980's got the square headlight, only the upper trim levels did (Silverado), so a lot of them look just like a '79.

I prefer '89-'91 > '85-'88 > '81-'82 > '73-'78 (I understand there are quite a few differences in the grilles of these year) > '83-'84 > '79-'80.

My favorite style of all is the '80 model year. I totally dig the large single headlight that year. Other years of single headlight? not so much. But that '80 is what does it for me. Next up would be the '85-'88 quad light grill. Best looking setup for that body style. I really kinda dislike the '89-'91 head light setup, doesn't look right, kind of like they were an afterthought to "update" the Suburbans and Blazers and heavy duty pickups of those years to "look" like the newer body style pickups.

The 1980 Cheyenne came standard with the round headlights, unless the RPO code V22 option was ordered...that gave it the square headlights like the Silverado

Well I don't have it anymore so I can't check RPO codes.
It was all standard no power anything, manual tranny and A/C.

I actually like the 79 style round headlight with the full chrome bezel covering the front.

I just looked at a 1980 Custom Deluxe, 4x4 ,short bed, SM465, window cranks, etc. It had round headlights. I see very few of the square headlights.

Actually there was no Cheyenne model in 1980 Blazers. That was the first year of Silverado, and you did not have to get the Silverado package to get it, it was an optional grill. My 1980 was wearing Cheyenne badges, but the glove box sticker showed it was in fact a Silverado. There were two models in 1980, Silverado and base models, no Cheyenne at all that year. Unless you are calling Cheyenne the base model which is incorrect.

There is a 1980 base model Blazer here in the valley, and my Silverado, the differences are very few, mine came stock with chrome, rear quarter badges, and chrome grill, his came stock with none of that.

I never said there was a Cheyenne Blazer...my response was to someone's reply that their Cheyenne had the square headlights.
Maybe I should have said base model had round headlights unless it was equipped with the V22 option...

I guess that is where the confusion started.
I never said blazer.
It was a crew cab, and it was a cheyenne.
