another Billavista tech article for 14 bolt

[ QUOTE ]
I haven't had any issues with my straps in any of my trucks.

Nice pictures of how monstrous a 1410 is /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yeah it's a monster, here's a pic of mine when I did the shafts:

I'm waiting for Jessie to check his voicemail and give me a ring back to discuss all the parts I need.

Thanks.. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I was lucky to find a New Driveshaft with 1410's..for $10..
at Canfield swap last year..

I may just do the upgrade..when I shave my 14bff 2"..

I didn't realize...there was that much difference between the 1350 and 1410...
It's hard to see..just laying'm next to each other..

I did with 10 bolts, the straps where a headache I wished I didn't have.

same here...

I don't see any need at all for a 1410 u-joint. What I want is a 14FF yoke in 1350 that has u-bolts!

what a bunch of fluff.
what exactly does H.A.D. 'machine'?
is it just a rebroach?
for me the good news is that a 1410 is available for a 14ff
dont really care if it uses straps or u bolts
maybe prefer straps as I can use a ratchet to remove them vs 1 flat at a time wrenching

There isn't. They're the same size cap, just the 1410 is wider for more angle.

My rig runs all 1350s except at the front pinion I run a 1410. U bolts on the front yoke, hex bolts on the flange, u bolts in the rear output of the transfer case and regular straps on the axle.

I haven't had any retention issues. Jesse is big on selling u bolt yokes instead of straps, and I can see it being an issue if you bind your yoke up and rip the bolts from the yoke, however......

If your joints aren't binding either method of retention is acceptable and will work fine in my opinion.
