Well, it was in the Cherokee Scout, my local newspaper, this week. Western Forge, a plant in the Peachtree community of Cherokee County, where Murphy is located, is closing its doors next spring. Western Forge churns out screwdrivers for the Craftsman and Husky brands, and had subcontracted some of it's more menial tasks out to IOI, where I was working until this cancer came up. I'm irked mostly because the subcontracting work they provided for IOI's disabled clients is now gone, meaning there's now going to be a little less for those disabled to do when they come to IOI to work everyday. Probably, some of Western Forge's former employees are now going to eventually find their way to IOI through some form or another as well after the plant closes in April.
