That was a major PITA, but the durn c-clips were rust-welded to the u-joint caps. I could break pieces of them off, but couldn't get enough off to get them out. If you look close you can see them still stuck to the caps.

I didn't want to micky-mouse around and damage anything so I busted out the grinder. Cutting through u-joints 8 times is a major bummer, the first half is OK, but then once you get nice and deep the disc just wants to bind all the time. Anywho it is done.

Grinder is about 300 dollars cheaper and doesn't need refills.:D

Need a better grinder.:deal:

I couldn't stall my grinder if I put all my weight on it.... makita 4 1/2" 8.0 amp.

Well my oxy/acetalene cutter is on permanent back order since I don't have any money for one. :o

I have a 4.5" electric grinder that would have done the job much more quickly, but I was afraid of damaging the yokes with it, so I toughed it out with the little pneumatic one. :dunno:

BTW, burning u-joint grease smells just like two-stoke exhaust. :D
