Any issues with installing a 3" bodylift?

I want to install a 3" bodylift. Now, I know how just about everyone on here frowns at the thought of people installing bodylifts unless they're the ORD 1"ers...but I like'em. Their handy when it comes to work area under the truck. A 3" on my Ramcharger made a world of difference...unfortunately it also took a lot of fabrication to get the clutch to work right.
My question (since I've been through a thousand different threads regarding bodylifts and still didn't find my answer):

-I have a 73' K10 with a 4spd manual. What will I encounter, problemwise, in installing a 3" bodylift?
-Steering shaft?
-Lengthen clutch rod 3"s?

Thanks!

You will have to lengthen the gas tank hose I believe. I had to on my last truck but it wasn't a 73 either

Do you understand why a bodylift larger than 1" is a bad idea?

Yes, I've heard them all. But I do fabrication for a living so reinforcing the body mount locations isn't a problem. I know the rest.

I'm gonna relocate the filler to inside the bed...I don't like the stock setup and I wanna shave the outer sheetmetal (door handles, fuel filler, etc.).
Is that the only thing? From glancing around I could swear the steering shaft (not a Borgeson) will need to be lengthened (probably gonna add upper steering joints from a FWD car) and the clutch rod will need to be lengthened (assuming it is in fact frame mounted, not cab mounted.

I have a 3" body lift on my truck which is also a 4-speed. The clutch rod hole in the floor will need to be cut open more, your gas tanks will hang down unless you raise them, your bumpers will have a large gap unless you also raise them. The shifter will be a lot shorter and i had to cut out the floor on the tcase shifter to get into 4 low all the way. Those are all the problems i had

I've heard what you mean about the steering shaft. I didn't have to though and no problems :dunno:

I regret putting mine on every time i drive it. I just needed the extra lift. Shoulda just cut :doah:

So no extending anything? Just opening up the holes a bit....shweet!
The tanks will be raised and I haven't built the front bumper yet.

I've never had any problems with bodylifts. I've installed dozens of them without a lick of problem.

A body lift may be bad for a hardcore wheeler but if it is just gonna be mud ridin or a trail truck than it's not a problem. I had one and I worked greatfor what I needed. However if I was going rockcrawling or something I would never have one on there

You'll need to notch the bottom of the fan shroud so the blades don't hit. I had a 2" on my old truck and had to lengthen the clutch rod. My steering shaft had enough overlap to work but I did have to burn out the plastic plugs/rivots that hold the two halves together. You may also have to notch the floor a little for the t-case shifter to have full swing.
