The old NWA, Georgia Championship on TBS, that sort of stuff?
Ill have to tell Sandi about this post when she gets back. She has watched rasslin her whole life. The eariliest I know is from the early 80s WWF.
I remember some of it...mike
When I was in 2nd grade- I got a kitten, Dark Grey...
and named "her"
Dusty - for Dusty Rhodes- most people know/remember his son- what the heck his name is-but I remember his DAD!..
I'm counting back how many years it was- she (the cat) is still alive.graduated HS in 94- 10 years earlier- would have been 84- which makes her HOLY CRAP 18 years old- her sister- Sylvester is dead- but she's still at my mom's house. holy crap- I can't believe she is THAT old! WOW
sorry got off the wrastlen topic.
Grew up with it and some of the WCW and other stuff from Minnesota. Vern Gagne, His son Greg and Jim Brunzell they were the High flyers. Junk yard dog. The Claw, Baron Von Rashke. The Crusher. British Bulldogs. Jerry Blackwell, Ok you get the picture. Went to several matches live too. but they never let ya in the ring even when the wrestlers/actors invite anybody from the audience up.
You mean like Tully Blanchard and Oly and Arn Anderson The Kruschevs way back when they would wrassel in the small studio. Lets see who else, The Free Birds the Windoms the American Dream Dusty Rhoads The Nature Boy (not the other one) when he still had the locks going on. Once Sting showed up it was all down hill from there. The original Four Horseman were Flair, Blanchard and the Anderson's.
ahhhhh the Nature Boy Rick Flair!!
yup remember that too- and I'm only 26- thats pretty sad!
RICKY THE DRAGON STEAMBOAT my favorite wrestler as a kid /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
supa fly snooka
back in the day...when kamala the ugandan giant was around? hell yeah...the original bushwhackers, always a favorite
Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. 4 Horsemen vs. Dusty and the world. They'd have some squash match, maybe an interview from FLA or Mid-Atlantic and maybe a good ole fight between Dusty and the Horsemen.
My earliest memories are watching the Funks out of Amarillo, Scott Case and those guys when I was a wee tot. Then we got cable and TBS. Gordon Solie was the man on the mike. Geez, those were the days. They'd have a quick squash match, then the star would jump on the mike and tell the world how he was gonna kick so and so's butt at the Omni that Sunday nite.
Oh HELL yeah...Old school ROCKS!!! But lets go back to Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Ted DiBiese, Ray Candy, The Rock n Roll Express, Midnight Express (with Jim Corenett)...anyone else remember Col. Buck Robley??? and Ditry Dick Murdoch???
If you can name them , I'll know them ...seriously ! I know them all ...way old school watcher of the wrestling !
The only old wrestling I own is ECW..SABU! /forums/images/icons/grin.gif /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
Tommy Rich, Austin Idol, Ivan Koloff, Dr. Death, Magnum TA, Nikita Koloff (you know his name is Scott Peterson and was found by the Road Warriors?), Tony Atlas.
So many names.
I can't believe you call yourselves old school rasslin fans and nobody mentioned Harley Race, Buddy Rogers, Dory Funk Jr., Terry Funk, BlackJack Mulligan, Ron Bass, The Polish Powerhouse Ivan Putski, Brickhouse Brown, Tony Atlas. Lets not forget The Von Eriks, Fritz, Kerry, Mike, Kevin, and David.
I even remember the Cowbell matches between Ron Bass and Dusty Rhodes. BTW Dusty used to live here in Dade City where we do. I used to play Basketball with Kendall Windham, when he was about 16 or so.
My brother used to torture me with Jimmy Superfly Snooka and Ivan Putski wrestling moves! We still joke about it! "You better watch it or I'm gonna give you a superfly snooka!"
Did you hear Kendall did time for some crime? Think it was a forge check thing or something....
I was into the Georgia Championship, then when I had access to satellite, it was that and Mid-South.
I miss the old days.
Heck, no one's said anything about my avatar yet.
Who can name the names in the pic?
Have you ever gone to any of the APW shows up in Hayward?
Separate names with a comma.
