my friend can get me the Pioneer DEH-P7400MP at cost. is this a good head unit?
I have one and I love it, sounds awesome and has a TON of features. But I keep messing it up though, i did a crappy install.
I have a DEH-2300 head unit and it rules. it's a lower version of what you have, but I bought mine a little over a year ago. it barely ever skips with CDs, even over railroad tracks (my truck doesn't have rear shocks too!) it rarely ever skips compared to my friend's Sony, which skips if it hits a manhole. I'd say go with pioneer.
Go for it !!! Hell, if you can get it at cost I would. I personally like JVC, but that jut me.
Pioneer is great!! especially the Premiers,, pioneer head units that is,, now if your talking subs and amps it's a whole different story.. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
good unit, but there are much better ones out there. Pioneer is the most returned headunit I sell.
Which head units are better? Also why are most of the Pioneer CD players returned?

The 7400 should be a good unit for you. There upper models are great. The ones that usually have the problems are the cheaper ones from places like wal-mart. Of course you can always get a lemon from any manufacturer. I've run several pionners, including a six year old 825 that cost like $800 and has more features then I know what to do with. None have ever given me probs.
