mentions nothing of a release date...
Microsoft has stated that the scheduled release date for worldwide availability is January 30, 2007.
First paragraph, dork.
the other obviously incorrect dates caused me to miss it by skipping the rest of that paragraph.
It can be had now, for a price, and a little wait as its special order right now
It will go into mass / mainstream distribution jan 30th
However as with all Microsoft distributions I would wait until vista SP1 at least before upgrading.
ALSO, if you buy any version of XP until the vista launch, you get a coupon for a free upgrade to vista anyway (which u can use whenever)
actually thinking about buying a new machine, and was considering just waiting until the new version comes out, that way i dont have to dick with the upgrade later.
I would wait a year or so before upgrading anyway. They never get it right at first.
so whats the main feature for the new operating system. Has much changed compared to XP?
There is some good info in that link. Otherwise just google it......there are a bunch of reviews etc out there.
I was using vista a couple of months ago. They offered a beta version for trial. It was on microsofts website. It had some really neat features, but the beta didn't have a driver for my onboard sound. It is Freaking HUGE. The OS itself takes up 5 times as much HD space as XP. XP took alot for me, a die hard 98se guy.
I think one of the biggest new features on Vista that everyone is hype about is the "3D" windows option....
