Anybody recognize my winch bumper?

This came on the '89 K5 I just bought.

Had a Ramsey 8000lb winch bolted to it like it came with it. Seems to be well thought out and the winch was a bitch to pull off (solenoids or something were shot and it hadn't been used in a long time so it wouldn't free spool) the tolerances were so tight.

Kenny thought it was a Warn...but don't Warn bumpers usually have the W cut into them somewhere?

I'm probably going to get rid of it and put a stocker on there. I have no use for it as I traded my buddy the winch for some work. Any ideas on what to ask for the bumper?

The brush guard comes off but did have the winch attached to it as well.

The "front quarter" shot of the bumper above shows some custom radio antenna stuff one of the previous owners put on it. That is not original.

Thanks. It needs some work (clean it isn't...ash trays and cup holders are in the dishwasher as I type this) but I'm pleased with it.

It says Warn to me too...but every single Warn dohickey I've ever seen has Warn on it somewhere. I have one of their 2" receiver shackle mounts and it even has Warn cast into it.
 
Hmmm it looks jet like it and has the diamond plate on top. I'm not really sure though. As far as what to ask that's hard to say. They don't seem to go for much but I guess it depends on the demand in your area. With that said if you do decide to take it off put me on the list. I'm not sure about shipping though.
 
Shipping I can do (did I mention I work in shipping and receiving?) but yeah, it wouldn't be super cheap and you would REALLY want to have a loading dock to receive it.

Did i mention that Warn no longer makes those bumpers.

You can post pics through photobucket so everyone can see. But the 25$ is well worth the money. There's alot you get to be a paid member

That is true they aren't made anymore. Down here I see them for around 100 or so. But people snatch them quick

Actually, I think it is a Ramsey bumper. It's been a long time (mid-late 80's) since I had mine, but IIRC, the warns were more bolt together. The Ramsey had the top diamond plate welded on, where the warns were bolted. I don't remember if the warn corners bolted to the winch cradle or was welded, but the Ramsey was one piece.

Ramsey actually did make their own line of bumpers years ago. They were in competition with Warn.

I do remember seeing pics of this type of bumper in flyers, magazines, etc. I've just never seen Warn make the push bars like this one. Theirs were a little different.

And I also agree Warn always stamped a "W" on their bumpers.

This black bumper in the pics was called the "Classic" in the Warn line. I'm not sure what it was labeled as for Ramsey.
 
Oh yeah, forgot to add another hint:

If you find a bumper with the top tip bent over 90 degrees like in these pics, that clearly shows its a Ramsey.
Warn never did this to theirs.
I guess it was a way to determine their own differences between the competition. Their own design that set them apart.

drey, I'll let you know. jekquist offered me some bumpers then promptly dropped off the site. Can't find him now.
 
Wes, I'm not so sure about the lip being bent being the identifier. My Warn classic is bent over, but the lip is much smaller.

However, the brackets attaching the bumper to the frame appear to be unique, Warn's come straight out from the bumper, while the Ramsey appears to angle upward.

Here is a shot of my Warn showing the bent lip on the center section:

It isn't real apparent, but the plates on the wings are just thin sheetmetal. They are bolted to the wings, not welded like AJM's. They also are not tread plate, although I plan to do that in the future. There is also no W stamped anywhere I have been able to find on it.
