Like a Paxton, Vortech, Procharger, etc???

Just wondering how you like it, and at what RPM you're starting to see boost.

Not to get off subject immediately but, why do you ask? Is the K5 getting a sweet 'charger?

The experience I have had has been pretty impressive w/ factory units making 9psi boost efficiently. I know that they can be "tweaked" to make about 28 or more but I think it would drastically reduce the longevity of the unit. And that much boost also gets into substantial fuel system upgrades.

Maybe... but if I do, it won't be on this engine. I'm more or less just trying to get info to make a decision. I know they can make killer boost, but I'm more wondering what kind of boost I'd get at say...1500rpm. I like the idea of boost on tap, but if it's not there at lower RPMs, I'd just go with a single turbo instead.

I know that regardless, turbos are simply more efficient, but I don't know if I want to deal with the added complexity of getting a different exhaust manifold and routing everything...

Yeah, I know those are good at the low-RPM stuff. But those are out of the question.
Why are those out of the question? A roots would be great for a truck. Probably the cheapest option and the easiest fuel curve.

Vortech for 4-6K a Weiand 177 Pro Street Supercharger for just over 2K.

This is going in the truck isn't it?

If I go for it, yes...

Roots setups are too big, and don't allow use of an intercooler, since they're draw-through setups. Blow-through is best for cold weather and cold starting from all the research I've done.

That'd be your best bet. A Garrett off of a Typhoon or Syclone (same same) and an intercooler from a 6BT Dodge and you'de be set. You'll probably want to run a pressureised box or a blowthru carb for induction, or EFI/ DFI.

Well, considering that it's for an L6, setting it up will be considerably easier than if it were for a V8. The intake and exhaust are on the same side, and there's a readily-available exhaust manifold with a T4 flange on it.

EFI is what I plan on using. I'll probably end up going with a Megasquirt setup, rather than trying to adapt something else to the motor.

Good call on the intercooler advice...didn't think of that one. You think it'll fit with minimum fuss?
