Hi, I did a search but couldnt find anything. I am thinking about bobbing the bed of my jimmy. I wouldl ike to take about 8" from the bed behind the axle. It looks like it would be fairly easy. Anyways has anyone here done this, any tricks on making it look OK? Any pics?
Thanks
Shawn

I bobbed my frame to the hanger , and took the tailpan off to the rear body mount ............but I'm not putting anything back there in place of it .

Are you wanting to put the tailgate and such back on ?

You can a pickup tailgate already , the bedsides have the holes already , just need the mounting hardware and brackets off the truck you pull the tailgate from ( same year or close to your Jimmy ) .

OK , just remove your gate and ALL hardware . Fit up the truck tailgate hardware ( may need fitting if wrong year ) , and use the truck tailgate .

Truck tailgates were an option on Blazers/Jimmy's , usually on models with no top ordered .

i bobbed my truck. i took just short of 10" i stopped at just before the rear crossmember. i cut a section out of the bedsides equal to the length of frame i cut, but i left a little extra on the floor and just overlapped them and welded it together.
