Motorola MPX200 that a co-worker bought on eBay. Supposed to be unlocked......
Does it have a lock symbol on it and how is it locked?
Cingular told him that its locked. His sim card works in it, but he cannot get it to connect with cingular's service. If it makes a difference it has an AT&T "decal" on it so that is the service that it probably started out on.
there's usually a 2 button sequence to unlock it. Try doing a search online for the owner's manual for that phone. It should tell you how to unlock it.
The default is usually "1-2-3" or the last 4 digits of the phone number.
His wife put his last one in the washer. Turns out they don't like to be bashed around. Or soaked.
its network locked.
you will need an unlock cable that you will probably have to order from japan. Google the phone model and unlock cable.
fair warning, its not an easy process.
