Should be fun! And who can turn down free food???
If I get a 14 bolt by then, I officially smoked 10 bolt #3 this weekend.
lol - finally upgrading huh?
Hope you can make it.
Yeah, that monster built 305 is just putting out too much torque for anything less than 1 ton . I'm gonna try and keep it six lug, though. Either through spacers or some machining.
I'd really like to make it, we had a blast when we were up ther two weeks ago.
I Wanna Go
I am semi-sort of planning on it!!!!!!!!
I have to get the hydro assist cylinder reinstalled and all that bled. I have the WTO system and the cylinder seal crapped out and bled all the fluid out. A Tulsa outfit called G. T. Bynum on north Peoria repaired it. Once that is back it, I can start it and see if the ignition switch I replaced is the cure for the "die outs" I was experiencing. LOL
Also painting my shop building interior and trying to get ready to move, so who knows!!!!!!!!
Well look who it is... I thought you fell off the face of the planet. lol
I need to have my ram re-sealed. That thing is leakin' like a mutha.
What did it cost to have it repaired?
You need to make it!!!
G. T. Bynum charged me $50.00 (they get about $65/hr. but he cut me some slack saying he had about 1.5 hrs in the thing by the time he figured it all out) and if you also have the WTO one he will now be familiar with that design. He (Iven Bell, shop foreman) could not identify a brand (brand X I guess, ) but apparently they have a weak design. He replaced a soft aluminum bushing with a brass one and installed new seals. He also told me the construction/design of the cylinder causes to rod to operate in a "dry" area right at the entrance to the cylinder. Evidently the first seal is set back in the cylinder somewhat, if that makes any sense.
Send your ram back to Matt at WTO, he has come up with a new design that is supposed to be better and he will exchange your ram for the new one for shipping costs.
I have a set of spacers for a 14bolt. They have to be machine a tiny bit to fit properly. They have not been used as of yet. I will be living in OKC this summer. I will be more than happy to sell them. I am going to upgrade my 10bolt front to a 3/4 ton set up.
Thanks for the come back, man. I totally missed your reply and since the !@#$%^&*()_+ is leaking again, I plan to contact Matt first thing Monday. I've got a week to get this resolved so I can wheel with the club at the novice run next weekend.
Any progress with the ram and the motor issue?
We are getting close!!!
No good news
Called WTO on Monday and Matt was with a customer so I talked to David. He said they had better rams ($160.00) but mine would not be an exchange and he would check on size availability and call. To date, no call!
Ross and I have been busy digging and pouring footings and I have not driven any futher than I did to get to the Show 'n Shine so I don't really know if vapor locking is the issue or not.
You need to talk to Matt, not David. I think you would have better luck on getting a replacement talking directly to the owner...
