Post title says it all, got a light out and saw these in store. Are they worth it or just stay with regular halogens.

Absolutely, they put out a lot more light than conventional halogens. The only downside is the cost, but the improved light output is well worth the extra price. One of mine burnt out last night, and I am picking up a set tomorrow.

Does Anyone know if they are available for 89-91 k5's? Last time I checked about 2 years ago they were not.

I believe they are now available. I know that even the later model cars now have them available, so they should be for those.

There are a lot of brands of "high-performance" lights. Silverstars are a legitimate product from a reputable brand. Light output is brighter and whiter, so you should probably replace them in pairs. I like 'em.

I agree with replacing them in pairs. Although for me it is more of an appearance issue, I hate seeing one really bright headlight and one not so bright. Makes it look like there are electrical issues.

I bought the two pair, $100 worth. So as a $100 "performance accessory", I feel it was well worth it. I drive to work before sunrise, over one particular dark freeway pass alongside LAX. I want to see that wacko on the freeway before I run over him.:haha:

For the money, a better upgrade would be to get the Hella H4 conversions. Brighter, whiter and much wider selection of bulbs. There's a few threads in here about the topic. I have the Hellas and absolutely would not change them for anything.

I've been running Delta brand with halogen bulbs for almost two years now. I run 90/65 watt bulbs though, instead of the 65/55 "legal" ones. They really light up the road, and I haven't had any complaints as I keep them aimed correctly. :wink1:

94 camaros or any year of that generation with quad beams are the same part numbers and 89-91 k5 lights, so if u can find camaro sealed beams then they do make them!
