I freakin love this show. I think they nail the war in Iraq pretty well.
I had intentions of watching but it received bad reviews. According to what I read in US news some of the soldiers in Iraq had challenged it as being a farce. After that I didn't put too much emphasis on sitting down to watch it.
Guess it merits a second look.
It's probably not a %100 , but I think it is a great drama. They kind of make the Army officers seem like real friggin pricks, but hey I am AF so maybe the Army officers are like that??
i really like the show and have watched them all so far and will continue to watch them as long as they show them
I had planned to watch it, but it just wasn't meant to be I guess. It's all I can do to remember to watch "Rescue Me". But, I did sit down and watch "over there" the other night at the station.. I had to go on a run and missed a bunch of it. Did come back to see 2 blondes get into the shower together.. ... maybe I should watch it more often.
Actually I read they (FX) asked the army to review the 1st 2 episodes and then they totaly changed around the rest. I think it shows in the later episodes. Although not 100% realistic I belive it good job of depicting how f'd up things are over there. And I have yet to mis a episode
I'll make it a point to catch the next episode.
i've been very leary of this show since i began seeing previews for it. knowing how liberal hollywood can be..
not sure what i think about it... i haven't watched every one, but sometimes it seems they concentrate on failures, f*ck ups and soap opera stuff more than anything else.. portraying rarities as common place...
i don't know...
I Would Like To Hear From Someone That Has Been Over There What They Think Of It
I was "Over There" from January-May of this year. It was a totally different view point for me though being in the AF and basically locked down to the base.
Oh, and I read that some of you haven't been able to catchit???
I got one word for you TIVO
