Well I know a guy in this neck of the woods that is supposed to be opening his many acres to folks like us for a fee, and if I ever get my paws on a trailer I plan on making it to Paragon, but other than that, I drive my stiffly-sprung junk to work and occasionally school.
That's all I have happening.
I'll be ready in a month or so. We've been in Rhode Island, at the end of RT44, climbing some good rocks and running some mud in Holbrook lately.
Anyone up for a camping/wheeling weekend?
when and were........details man........my truck might be ready, if not i always got the trusty s-10
late spring early summer for me . then my big new 1 ton will be done and going. or i will bring the old 2x4 crew cab and be stuck watching from the side lines. yes it was a old n.y.d.o.t truck and is yellow and blue and sleeps 6 .
I have a camper/camground up in Warrensburgh. (north of lake george) They don't open till may. But i was gonna try and do something then. Tent sites available. I don't know of many trails in the area. We just moved there last fall. I didn't have time to "scout" out new stuff.
i remember wheeling on the east side of lake george on some deeply rutted, rock strewned(sp?) county road that also that doubled as a logging trail........that goes back a few years and i have no idea how to find it.........but if your scouting i hope this helps
Did you have to drive through a couple of culverts (tunnels) under the highway? There is a decent trail that runs up the back side of Prospect Mountian. 4 1/2 miles uphill. All the fire access roads are still legal to run. But thats the only one I have done. I am going to get topigraphical maps for the area and scout out some new trails.
nope thats not it but i have run that trail......gets tight in some places for a full size with some serious drop offs.....if memory serves there was a pucker factor........
I ripped my dual exaust off my 76 on that run. Went through one of the washouts straight. The rear pipes dug in when the back dipped in. I got stuck and had to back up. Folded the pipes all up. We used to run the mountian bikes on this trail 4 hrs to climb it, it 1st or 2nd gear ONLY! 15 min to go down!! YAAAAHOOOOOOO!!!!!
I'm thinking late spring or summer. I might have a place for us to go in Albany county, it is actually state land and we can camp out in the ghost town that is suppose to be there.
Where??? I can scope it out.
This is the area I am referring to.
We would start out at the property in the center of the ariel shot and move west or even south. If you look at the topo map you will see old logging roads on it that we can travel on.
Broome Center. Do you know somebody down there????
cool site. Here's where my camp is.
sounds good.........like i said i will have bbq at my house with a trail ride in the spring details to follow....
also if your into the orange county choppers thats my town and i could show you there shop and they have a store with most of the theme bikes..........if your interested........
if you guys have any dates that are good or bad just let me know.......
