Are all D44 ball joints the same size for all years of axles?

getting ready to do ball joints in my 86 long bed. however the p.o. replaced the 10 bolts with a 44 and a 12 bolt. the front has the flat top knuckels so it must be pre 76. any difference in the ball joints sizes through the early s 70s? thanks,

    jason

Nope they are all the same except the early closed knuckle version. Uses the same ball joints as a 10 bolt.

A handy little tool that I use to compare part numbers is to go to Autozone's website. You can look up parts for all kinds of vehicles and compare the P/N's. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Please make sure you understand the term "Upper Ball-Joint Pre-Load".
