OK, AZ peeps, specifically phx area, should we leave wed night and drive to flagstaff, or leave early thursday and drive straight through?

And please only post if you are for SURE going, once you are confirmed to go, so we can have an accurate convoy count.

EDIT- Gonna leave early thursday morning!!

Edit 2- I am leaving my house 5;00 am, thursday morning, couple people are leaving Wednesday night for Flagstaff. We are going to meet up at Mike and Rhondas for Breakfast like normal, and head out from there.

Should be at Mike and Rhondas by 8:00 am, and leave by 9:00 am.

post up what your plans are, so we know how many people to expect at breakfast.

MtnMan hopefully will chime in with the address for the Restaurant.

i'm game for leaving thursday morning and driving straight through. i don't have the extra coin to get a place in flag for the night. whatever the consensus is with the locals i will meet up in flag one way or the other thursday morning.

As alwas, I'll do the Thursday drive - can't commit to a starting time at this point, though. That'll depend somewhat on the silver bird...
 
We will be in Moab on Sunday the 5th and I'll be staying at Slickrock in my camper. I'm actually spending the week prior in Ouray so I won't be able to caravan with anyone (unless you're going from Ouray to Moab on Sunday the 5th :D)

We'll be heading back to AZ on Tuesday the 14th with the rest of the gang.

What route do you take from the valley? I would like to take the same route so if you catch up to us you can join us if you'd like.
 
You can still stay here overnight...even If I don't figure out a way to go this year.....
 
We know, But I don't think it's a good idea to stay since Amy is preggo, and you're not going, it'd be easier and less stressfull on everyone to drive straight through.

I'll probably get the truck out of jail over Labor Day. Start time for the Bash depends on how much I get done on the Labor day weekend.

My route is Shea to 101 / 101 to I-17 / I-17 to I-40 / I-40 to Rte. 89 / gas at Maverick (yes, I'm a creature of habit...) / 89 to intersection with 160 / 160 to Kayenta / turn off onto 163 in Kayenta / 163 through Monument Valley, Mexican Hat, to the intersection with 191 just outside Bluff / 191 to Bluff-Blanding-Monticello-Moab.

If I remember right I did catch you guys two years ago outside Blanding. I believe that was the Year Of The Cursed Trailer Tyre.
 
I do believe that is our normal route, but so far just me n kkatfish are caravaning, i'm gonna see if marv wants to tag along, if so, looks like the 3 of us will conclude the caravan.
 
I usually only manage a late start. Last year, the people at the Bowen Motel called me on the road to inquire whether I would be still be arriving that day... actually, it was just around the time the trail leader meeting had concluded :doah:
 
and Amy will be 8.5 months preggo, and I haven't paid off last years trip, and I am making lots of excuses,.......
 
I think I'm in for this Caravan....

We won't be traveling back w/ you tho.... as we will be staying the following week to chill. :D

east side by 6am? meet kkatfish at 7am, or earlier then that????
 
early is good for me. i will be loaded and ready to go wednesday so just let me know a time and where. i assume we'll meet somewhere along i-17 and 101 since i will go up the west side 101 to get to 17 and you will probably come around the east side 101?
