hey guys, go easy on me:D, ive still got the stupid stock stereo in my truck and i finally decided that its time to get rid of that and upgrade. ive got the install kit and the wiring harness, but i cant seem to get the headunit out. ive got the dash bezel out and i dont see how the radio is suposed to slide out because its got the dials on each side. i can push it in deeper into the dash, but not out. does it have to be cut out? its an '88 k5. thanks guys:D

They had dials in 88 ? I always thought they had the square by then . Oh well .

Anyway , when I took the dial radio out of an early 80's rig , there was a bracket behind it that bolted from radio , it had to come out from underneath , which was easy as this rig had no a/c .

yea its square and got a dial on each side for volume and tune. is there anyway to remove the dials from the stereo? there are nuts on both sides of the plastic, i took the front ones off that i could reach, so i can push the radio almost all the way into the dash, but cant just pull it out because of the metal. the truck has A/C and i tried pulling the A/C controls out to try to pull it out from the top, but the controls were tight on the right side so i couldnt really move it out of the way, probably a set of wires i couldnt reach.
