Auto or Manual Trans

[ QUOTE ]
auto. the lady likes to wheel, and she can't hit the brakes withoput a 2x4 strapped to the pedal. no way she could handle a clutch too

We've all seen that one in the mag. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

TH 400 or SM 465 and a 205 are the only options I'd consider.

I perfer manual so thats what my rig is.

I like my 700R4, but I think after I get back home next year I might put in a reverse manual valve body from TCI, the one with engine braking. And put in a floor shifter. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

i had a turbo400(B&M Shift kit)/NP203/3.73's and 33's and it was good.. open rears, loads of miles on the motor... no problems wheelin... but when I went to SMC465/NP205/4.56's I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!! the same hills where my truck would chug with the auto by mashin the throttle.. was totally different with the manual... way more control.. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

I say it depends on what you wanna drive.. not what others want you to drive... take a auto through where your gonna wheel then try a manual and see if you want the extra work.. shifting isnt no big deal to me... hell eventually I wanna get a NV5600 for my truck... creeper gear like my SMC465 but overdrive = 6 gears!!! /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif

I love when topics like this come up. /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif DUCK AND COVER! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Thanks for all of the opinions but Im gonna go with manual.Ive had more autos break on me than good ole manual! Now that debate is finished, has anybody used 76 Cadillac disc brakes for rear conversion, the plus is E-Brake?
