Aux. fuel tank wiring

I have factory duel tanks with a small problem. The previous owner hacked the wiring harness /forums/images/icons/mad.gif. According to the factory wiring diagram there is a four wire connector that attaches the harness to the firewall/bulkhead. I found (during lunch) that connector is under my steering column and has four nonfactory wires coming out of it. I didn't have time to chase it to the firewall. My question is: does anyone know where it is susposed to connect to or where the wires pass through the firewall?

I'll be strapped for time tonight trying to fix this and anything will be helpful.
