State of the art mobile hospital, Governor Blanco bumbles their rescue effort.
I saw some guy on some news channel last night interviewing a congressman who was blaming the problems in the disaster on Bush.
The interveiwer said something to the effect of "Why are you not blaming any of the local or state government officials, who are all democrat?" The congressman's reply wasn't why he didn't fault the locals, it was "We don't know that they're all democrats".
The interviewer made some good points on how this is being so obviously used for politics, and the Congressman just continued to insist the president failed to solve all the problems of the local goverment (his words were less clear).
BTW, I think by now it's obvious that the mayor is not qualified to continue as a public official that may be called upon for any kind of leadership.
Ed Koch said the same thing on another news show last night, this entire disaster has lacked leadership at the local level from the warning stage.
It has become like a three ring circus with no ringmaster down here. For some reason the local folks simply lost their minds (some would argue that this was a physical impossibility for the governor) and the feds have just started to actually get organized.
The contingency plan, by the way, for getting people out of NOLA if the levee broke, wasto use the city busses. They are, of course, sitting waste high in poop soup right now.
