so i went to look for a good used one at a salvage yard, they had one for $75 but with a bad u-joint. i talked to the owner and he let it go for $50 and i got a new u-joint at a autostore, it is localy owned and i know the owner. he sold me a precison u-joint for $20 so all in all i got a good shaft for $75 :)

here is what i have now

You forgot to do one thing. After you pulled the heep out you are suppose to drive through where he was stuck.

That always really hurts their feelings.

man that thing is pretty fubared. Ive got a friend that does some hardcore stuff with a dana 44 welded and 35" boggers. Ive seen him break the ears off and break the inner shaft off at the splines all at the same time. next mudhole he broke the rear output on his transfercase and drove through the next three mudholes in 1 wheel drive without haveing to take a strap. Im suprised that with all the stuff he broke on the first two holes he didnt finish it off in one of the others cause he was pushing it harder to make it through.

oh and one other thing. next time you need a shaft check the for sale section here. I got a complete set of d44 front shafts with good u-joints for about $40 from another member.
