babys coming, blazers going

I remember being very excited about my first. She's 3 now and as cute as ever.

Congratulations. :thumb:

these posts are always depressing
Well depressing if all you care about is cars and trucks.
Kids are the major purpose for my life, and I am gratefull for my 5 year old and pray for more every day.
I did let go of some of my collection, and I have a long ways before I get to a normal number of projects that I collected when I was a bachelor.

well people would be surprised to see how many times regret sellin the truck, they look back and say "why the heck did i do that??"
unless it is orders from the wife, which is even worse.
i had 2 kids in the past 2 years, and selling my truck wouldnt have made a bit of difference, because selling it would not help any situation except maybe temporarily financially, but kids arent expensive as people say they are..
keep it, youll regret it.. or just end up doin it all over again in a few years

I agree, I never sold any of my trucks or cars when I was having a baby, I started selling after I lost my job and couldn't find one after a few months, I still have vehicles in the double digits and those do not affect my finacial situation, I actually keep them as money in the bank.:D

I would generally agree that you should keep the toy, but I assume you and your wife have discussed selling it and decided it would be a good idea.

I highly regret selling off the spare parts I had accumulated for my 87 in preparation to sell the truck.

I kept the truck, and now I'm ticked off because I had all the parts I needed to do a disc brake rear on my truck but I sold them.

That's another thing I did, I sold all but one spare part for each project I have, I wouldn't sell anything that could make my project complete unless selling parts indidvidually would make me much more money.:thumb:

I never did understand why people say they're selling stuff because a kid is on the way. As quoted above, kids aren't that expensive at all. Unless you don't have insurance on the wifey, GF, whatever. Then I'll understand selling stuff to pay for it.

I kept my stuff when we had both kids. I still have my K30 thru both births. I still have my K30 from our honeymoon clear up to today after 5 years of being divorced from the ex.

Can you say loyalty? :waytogo:

well congrats.... and my condolences...

i too agree and people can disagree with me.. i have had my truck since 1989 when i built it.. many body swaps and parts swaps... came off the road in 1997-2004.. i figure it is bought and paid for.. it can sit there... not costing a dime off the road....

i have an 11yr old and a 4 yr old.... they both love the truck.. i took my 11yr old out wheelin when he was bout 6 wheelin and boy he loved it....

but once you get settled and start a new project let us know.. :thumb:

Good to hear you're keeping it.

Several friends sold their toys (trucks, cars, bikes, guns, whatever) when they got married or had kids and now I always hear how much they miss their X. I can only roll my eyes. None of them made any significant money out of it or made it through a rough time because of it.

One buddy had a decent 2 door Cherokee with a few inch lift and 31's. Sold it for his then fiance because she hated it and "it wouldn't make a good family vehicle."
Whatever.
Nearly ten years and a second wife later he has no Jeep or real toy and speaks with regret about that every time it comes up.

Keep your toys unless you absolutely have to sell them to get by.
I've considered getting rid of my stuff a few times and just getting a newer truck I can use when I want and leave alone...but my stuff is paid for and can sit and wait until I'm in the mood again.

im glad you kept it.i told the ex wife my blazer would outlast her,and as it went i was right.lol.if you sell it you'll be lookin to get anether one.and if you put you heart into the one you got,you will never forgive yourself for getin rid of it.congrats on havin your first.im on my 4th and final bambino.
