"Backcountry Limo"

Welding the new roof rack. Not having a shop is a pain in the uh eh build process! Good thing I'm used to working out of my truck. I'll be stick welding most of the stuff I do for awhile since I don't have enough power in the garage, I mean gym. I sold my mig welder to my father in law and can go over to his shop for some things, but he's got his place all plugged up with work most of the time.
Jess went through 4 rolls of peal n seal yesterday on doors, roof and rear floor section. We'll need more, but that can wait till later. I've been traveling for work and am out of town next week also. So that being said. I'm on a conservation plan with the suburban. Only the stuff that gets it on the trail again plus the lights.
Rubber floor mat for the rear. Bed deck later.
Roof rack with light mounts.
Exhaust repaired or replaced.
Electric cooling fan circuit repaired and fan swapped for dual.
Passenger door rebuild and adjustment.
Cut the fuel pump access and maybe fix the sender.
Front brakes and a new rear caliper.
Replace the transfer case

Got the lights mounted on the rack for a test fit. Too late to take a pic. The rack came out pretty cool. It's not a finished deal yet though. I'll be adding to it later. I'll try to build the harness for the lights while I'm out of town working this week. Next weekend is going to be a long one. Good thing I have a pretty decent supply of energy and focus drink powder.
Jessica got the totes organized for the next trip.

We are going to mount them on top instead though. Put a cage around them eventually.

Let's see a pic from inside the cab. Is there any dash or hood glare? How far back from the windshield did you mount them?

I forgot to get that pic for you this weekend. I'll do that tomorrow evening.
Memorial weekend trip was fun but I was plagued with problems. I'll be rebuilding the front brakes and possibly the axle soon. Lost a wheel seal friday and had to change it before leaving. Found seized brake calipers while fixing the wheel seal. Replace d them Friday in the driveway. Than had a front caliper seize up on the trail. The fans didn't get fixed prior to leaving and they just kept rd causing problems. speedometer cable bound up so I disconnected it only to find out the check engine light still works great so I plugged the cable back in. Once plugged back in it was no longer bound up. Yep, the Limo was the step child on this trip!

I can't believe I haven't sub'd this by now...killer truck.

I may have missed it, but how is the hiway ride with those sexy flexy springs?

The highway ride is great except on the washout two lanes at the speed limit. If the road is decent than the ride is decent. You know how the washout patches are never straight cut, but always crooked across the road. The body rolls pretty good on those and sharp corners, but the corners are one way rolls to a limit than back to center on the straight away

Thanks. I'm pretty sure on the location of the lights. No hood glare, tons of white light in front and protected. I'll cut the studs as soon as possible.
