I always had trouble keeping the power steering belt tight. The PO had cut off the a/c bracket to fit the headers. I went to the wrecking yard today and got a complete bracket and pump from an 86 k20. I still had to use the cut bracket but the other pieces that are different, I thought were missing. It bolts up tight now and I have the a/c brackets for later.
So I got the engine in and running. It was running like crap when I tried timing it. If I unplugged the wire it ran pretty good. If I plugged it in, it sputtered and died. If it ran for about 5 seconds it would smooth out and throw a code. My scanner wouldn't register the code. I had to jumper the aldl to retrieve. Low vaccuum at the map sensor. My overly tired brain had forgot the vacuum layout and plugged it into the wrong port. Now it runs pretty good
Awesome sauce! Trans is going to need a rebuild before the Oregon trophy challenge! Probably need to have a driveshaft built right also. The square tube does ok but doesn't like 55mph
Easter dinner with the family. Took some extended family for a ride in the backyard of the inlaws. Quite a few downed trees from the storms this year. It was fun though
The limo has been diagnosed with a life threatening illness. Jess came down with the late model virus and it spread to the limo. I may put a used Trans in it to drive through this year since we're moving and I won't have time to build another rig.
Eventually though, the Yukon is getting one tons! Sad and exciting at the same time. Kind of like trading in an old hag for a young bar maid.
Well I hope you start a build thread here for the Yukon. I have enjoyed following this one. Sad to here about the burb. Not sure I thought of it as an old hag, but I can see the appeal of more modern vehicles.
it all depends on Jess. Keeping her interested in the lifestyle can sometimes be a juggling act. She wants the interior comforts. The burban needs an entire interior at this point and the exterior, wellllll, you know!
I know what you mean, I made the suggestion of building a burb next and Christie was all for something with four doors and less lift..... I'm not ready to give up my convertible yet tho.
Less lift? Jess mentioned that about building the yukon. I just went, "sure honey." Hahaha that was the logical response while my brain was calculating how to keep the 37" tires and flex.
I just told Christie if she wanted more room i was doing a swap of all things under my blazer to a burban, I like the stance of 4-5 inches and 37's to much.
