Backspacing 15\" wheel on Dana 60

Ok I got my Dana 60!!!!!!!! Im going to swap my SF 14 for a FF soon. I was wondering what backspacing will I need in order to run a 15x12" 8 lugger? I don't want to grind the front into oblivion but also do not want the tires to stick out too much. I run 38/15.5 Swampers. I can't wait to put another one ton Chevy on the road!

What I gather is usually 3.5 for minimal grinding and 4-4.25" for optimal geometry but much more grinding.

Re: Backspacing 15

<font color=blue>I have a picture of a 60 caliper for a 15x10 wheel with 4 1/8" backspace if you want it. You'll understand why you'll need an extra disk once you see it

Re: Backspacing 15\" wheel on Dana 60

the backspacing required to do that is terrible
your scrub radius will be brutal
it will look like those idiots with the wire wheels sticking out side the body of their lowered ricers
there is a kit or 2 on the market to allow 15s on a 60
basically you have to downsize the brakes to 3/4 ton
on a jeep or ??? that is no big deal but 1/2 the reason for a 60 swap is for the big brakes to compensate for the huge tires
buy 16" wheels and tires

2 5/8" works great actually...and on a 12 inch rim, they wont stcik out thta far...my buddy had them on a d60 with 44s and it looked badass....nothin like a rice burner..

Re: Backspacing 15\" wheel on Dana 60

I found out I cannot get the wheels i want in 15x12 only 15x10. So would the backspacing still be the same on the 15x10 or would I need a new backspacing? I don't want them to stick out too much but sticking out a little bit is fine.
