Battery relocation (Update: Now the questions start...)

I saw that ya smartass...
I thought those were for passing the cable through a bulkhead, not as a terminal like that.
Got a like to where you bought them?

You can get them online, but the only local place I have found them was West Marine or someplace similar. I do not ant specfic links though.

Did I mention I am still at work? I am doing a critique in 5 minutes:doah:

Critiques SUCK!!! I'm at NPTU, I know a thing or two about the finger pointing blame games. I'm just waiting for the day someone says, " I was retarded. I fooked it up.", or just cowboy up and say "this place needs an enema, I start here."

All 3 guys said they ****ed up. New the right thing and for some reason did not do it. For their honesty they were spared.

Screening my calls........:haha:

Have fun at work today while I am sitting on my couch. That is why you get paid the big bucks....

And what the hell is a critique?

I only made it so far at NNPTU Orlando......police were involved.....pissed off XO's
Ah the memories:haha::haha::haha:

Ah the memories:D

A critique is when something gets ****ed to the point that some one gets crucified (normally). We ****ed up the repairs of a SUBSAFE valve:doah:. The wrong **** got put inside, guy had a question and did not stop, convinced himself he was right and kept going. The guy in question is MY INSPECTOR:mad:.

I was not a happy camper last night. I also got reprimanded for swearing at them and giving the impression I was "attacking" them:rolleyes:. Their shop Cheif said they got a lot less of an ass chewing than he thought they deserved:D.

Anyways, back on topic, how is your battery coming along:D

She said if she answered it you would say "Oh I will try his cell" so figured the whole conversation would be a waste of time. It is not just you, she screens everyone. Our phone talks to us so we dont even have to pick it up:D.

The big bucks haven't started yet. That begins in April when it jumps 1k a month:bow:

I got the battery tray mounted int he plastic toolbox I bought. I had to trim it down a little to get it to fit, but the box seems like it was meant to hold a few of these batteries and have extra room for the jumper cables on one side. Just need a wood divider.
Pics are on the camera but I can't find the cable.

The tray is mounted with 4 3/8" bolts and the box will be mounted with 6 3/8" bolts.
I also measured for the cables. I think that I will need 10' cables in order to get it from the bed to right near the heater blower motor. I guess I should mount some of those terminal things there....but not sure of that would be the best spot for them.
I might run the cables all the way to the core support. Then I could use the factory cables from the terminals to the starter, alternator and block...

See any flaws in that logic?

ya lost me on the terminals... which ones?

as for where to route your cabling to, I've found the best way to think about it is, what is the eventual destination of the cable going to be in the end...

what I mean is, will the system run a slave solenoid to fire off the starter? if so, where would you like to mount that? firewall, w-well, rad support? thats where you pos should run.. short runs are always best, so the firewall is a good spot..

grd should go to the block or frame (make sure your block to frame grd is good and attaches at the same spot)

Terminals like this:

They do not pass through just a panel mount.
I just worry about mounting it there with corrosion and what not.

Oh, and I don;t think I will run a remote solenoid for the starter. I just need to get the battery power back up to the engine compartment.

for the record, you can get those as feedthru's too... they are widely available, delcity, waytek, bluesea, they all sell them...

http://www.delcity.net/delcity/servlet/catalog?parentid=370&page=1

just remember, the more connections and cable length, the less reliable and durable the system will be.. In other words, just running that cable up front to a post, then hooking your existing starter cable, etc up, isn't something I like to see.. much better to interject your system into the existing in the most direct way...

I have found hundreds of the feed through type, just none of the panel mount ones. And you found it in 5 minutes....:doah:

I do understand about less connections and such, but I would like to have two of those terminals in the engine compartment so I can add other accessories later without having to run more wires all the way to the bed.
Or is there a better way?
