this work is her master piece thus far. she finished at about 1:30 this morning - has to turn it in for a final today. she painted on 4 boards and they will be displayed with a bit of space between them. the theme is the depletion of nature, thus the only flowers on the cherry tree which are alive and in color are those on the panel which the bird is on. nature everywhere else (the majority) is dead. i had to use the flash this morning, so the pic isn't that good but... here's the bird she painted. here's the picture she painted from for the bird. i like the bird she painted better. some other detail: and a link to a higher-res format of the pic so you can zoom way in and check out the detail. she says she's got about 30 hours into this work. maybe i'll snap some real photos of it when it's mounted somewhere. shoot... looks like i can't upload a full res. photo to photobucket. anyway,it's phenomenal, take my word for it.
