Hey Everyone,

I'm working on buttoning up my engine swap and I was tightening down my bellhousing to motor bolts.
They were tight going in, and they were tight coming out.
When I was putting them in I went through my 4 wheel drive shifter hole. After they were in I looked at the top of the motor and noticed the bolt holes "humps" were cracked at the top.
Is this going to be a problem? If so, how can I fix it without having to pull the motor? What would cause thise?

Thanks,
Surveyor

What trans are you running, is it an auto and if so was the convertor on the trans or on the engine?

Did you seat the torque converter to the pump ? Sounds like it wasn't in all the way and you could damge the pump when you start the engine . Think the engine or tranny are going to have to come out .

I seated the torque converter, if by that you mean:
I pulled the torque converter from the flywheel and replaced it on the shaft, I pushed on the torque converter while spinning it until it dropped in further. I then spun the torque converted the opposite direction while pushing in just to make sure, I did it for several rotations.

Yep that's what I mean .....did you check to see if there was any space between your flywheel and torque converter . You should be able to spin the converter freely if not then it's not seated correctly .

Yeah, I checked all that. I made sure it spun freely even after the motor was stabbed. The torque converted did pull out slightly while I was installing the flywheel to converter bolts.
It's now raining, suppose to for the next 3 days so I gotta move it into the garage that is too small to try and finish it up.

You said it's a motor swap, same bolts or new bolts? If new, maybe they're too long.
