bored at work so i thought i'd engage with the brethren of ck5.

ultimate suburban would be cummins 5.9 24v, nv5600, flat belly doubler, 64" rear springs, 4link front. double dana 70's with spidertrax knuckles for the steer. 40 gal tank with 25 gal truck tank mounted on driverside. about 4" lift h1 beadlocks and 42" iroks, with a lil trimming.

and bench race

come on some one has to have other/mo betta/more detailed ideas about this!!!

I say ditch the doubler and add a Gear Vendors lose the extra tank, go with a 50 gallon tank in the Stock location.
Instead of 63" rears go with Truck arms and Airbags .

Ditch the H1's and TSL's and go with Super Single 22.5's

Also mine would be Common rail with the G56 six speed instead of the NV5600

No, that about does it. You gonna build one or just talk about it? :D :haha:

i've got the two 70's , just waiting for my outdoor garage to get up to something above 0 degrees and melt the snow!!

i like the truck arms and bags idea! something like a low air Pete' bag?!!

mebbe do a long arm style like the 2wd 67-72 3/4t? that'd give me the ability to drop the bags so the dogs can get in the back. me likey!!

gotta save the 22.5's for the ultimate mega crewcab dually, c60 chassis, 8.3l and 13 speed.:D

must stop typing temporarily to insert smoked bbq turkey sandwich into face area. nom nom nom!

454TBI, NV4500, NP203/NP205 doubler, Dana60, 14bff, locked front and rear, full OEM interior, Blazer topper grafted on rear, minor lift, smaller tires (37ish).Martin

Entire body narrowed down the middle, bobbed rear, rear roof removed (behind middle seat), exo cage, tpi350/4l80e/sTak 3spd, 4-wheel full hydro steer, steering mog axles front and rear, 4-linked front and rear with coilovers, grooved 42"TSLs on h1 wheels

I'd just want bhays' rig and be done with it. (Check GMOTM voting) Search and you will see what I mean.

Well if I were building a burb it would be a bug out vehicle of sorts. Soooooooooooo

6" of lift semi airbags and links all the way around, 38 to 40" tires on H1s with 2 spares, one ton axles with the one oddity being a van 14 bff in the rear. ARB in the rear ox in the front all the usuals that go along with a 60 high steer assist etc.

6.5 turbo diesel. nv4500 trans stack 3 speed t-case, mobile ham setup, at least 60 gallons of fuel capacity.

Most mods would be going to reliability and the parts I could not get easily along the way would be bulletproof

i like the van 14 bolt idea one of my 70's is out of a van that i plan on using for burb.

If I had all the money in the world............

Detroit (4v with turbo), simple, strong, and from my understanding, fairly reliable. I like my 465 with the Ranger, so I'll sick with that. Only the Ranger would be airshifted (i have the parts now, but never installed the OBA for it), 203/205 setup, but the 205 will have the 3:1 gears installed. I have always wanted to do the square tube driveshafts, so I'll get those. 60/14bff with nothing special but air lockers f/r. High steer on the 60. I'd also scoot the axles out a little to lengthen the wheelbase a tad. Box the frame to stiffen it up some. I lke the looks and performance of 4-link but for simplicity I'll stick with leaf springs. 63" rear/52" front. I'm looking at 4-6" of lift and keep the tires small at around 37". Stock 40 gallon fuel tank, but with two 15 gallon saddle tanks, one on each side, and skidplated for protection. I'd have rock sliders added as well, justin case. Tube bumpers front and rear with a swing awaay tire/gas can mount on the back. Roof rack and 12000lb hidden winches f/r. Removable K5 style top with full roll cage inside.

I want my Burb to handle offroad but still be street driveble. I want to be able to tow as well and use it as a disaster aftermath rig. I love doing search and rescue and it'd be nice to be able to get to someone if they were out in the boonies. But with all th stuff I want, I'd really have to do two rigs or build it all on a commercial truck chassis.:eek1:

Is anyone going to run some portals since money is no object? Jus sayin.

If money were no object I would pretty much start a machine shop to produce all the one off parts I want, I would have the only 20 million dollar suburban around!!!!

Pfff sorry I'm expanding this beyond suburbans :D
