my new 87 pickup was originally black with a wite roof and after several years the inside is all different colors. what color originally came stock with the black exteriors? im hoping black. also anyone have rpo codes for interior color schemes?

i would love a black interior, which colors most commonly came with black cloth?

Make it black. It goes good with everything... :thumb:

Are you wanting to do a numbers-matching resto or something?

it sure does:D but i dont want the blue that it mostly consists of now.
its and 87 silverado k30 which here is ridiculously rare. i would like to keep it nice and close to OE if i can. im a sucker for an all original classic.

I pretty much always assume that any vehicle could have had a black interior.. can't think of one body style where it wasn't available..

That being said, every vehicle I build has a black interior.. or at least the main color..

Mine will be black. My K5 is white, and the interior is/was blue... Somebody popped a black dash pad cap on at one point, but the seats and door panels are still blue.

Black rules.

well i was thinkin along the most probable color schemes to pick the interior from. LMC prices are too much for me still! and id rather have oem parts even if theyre sun faded and cracked, yall northerners have good interiors but terrible rust problems.

i want to do black also and your right the lmc pries are pretty high but we dont have a choice unless paint our originals. if you buy them def. post some pics dude

I would guess that the most common interior colors for a black exterior would be:

1. Tan/Beige
2. Grey/Gray
3. Maroon/Red

I'd either go grey or black. Personally I can't stand red. Blue is ok.

Black seems to be very uncommon in these trucks. Never even seen it in a crew cab or burban at all.

I've gotta say that a Red/Maroon interior would be pretty sharp with a Black exterior. Maybe you could paint the interior Charcoal gray to liven it up a little.

Black always looks good, I plan on my interior being all black except for red cloth seats and the cloth part of the door red (going to paint all the plastic section on red doors..) maybe a few other small things in red when I get to doing it...Hope it looks good :) Black is my favorite interior color over maroon is nice to...

Both of the K5s I had were black exterior with the gray interior. Both were Silverado packages. The previous owner of the first K5 I had wanted to change over to the red/maroon interior but I don't like that combination and I'm glad he never got the chance to do that to the rig before I bought it. He actually died about a month before I bought it.

My 1986 K5 that i'm redoing now, is apple red with a slate grey int.
I've painted all the top half that was white, a med. grey to match the rest.
Got new dove gray carpet from ACC. Just need to get the new seat covers and rear side panels from Classic Ind. to just about finish the int.:D

I have a good friend that had an '87 K30 reg cab that was black w/ black or graphite int. from the factory.
It really looked good, alot better than the maroon int. did.

All the black ones I can think of came with maroon or grey interiors. I always liked the grey interior. It's color neutral, but not as hot in the summer as black.
