Hey guys, i've kinda hit a road block in my 1 ton swap... turns out the donor was a 90 model with the second gen 14 bolt... the only disc conversion i can find that will fit is from Blackbirds custom trucks. Has anyone delt with them at all or know if its a quality kit? Any info would be appreciated, i tried doing a search and came up empty so sorry if this has been asked before... Later

Nice enough folks. Don't expect them to get you Caddy calipers, but otherwise they know their stuff and the parts are top notch.

TSM has a kit for 2nd gen 14bff I believe.

What's a 2nd Gen 14BFF?? Is it the 11.5" one? I was thinking of starting a thread to ask about that one, and to compare it to the 10.5" version.

i'm assuming its a 14bff from a '88 thru '98 3/4 ton or 1 ton.

In this instance I think we're referring to the later 10.5" with the slide-off drums. I've never seen one in person, but I gather you don't hafta take the hubs off to get the drums off.

Yep, ya'll are exactly right.... the drums slide off which is nice until this point. Also, it's still a 10.5 incher, just with a few more ribs on the pumpkin, made from about 1987-88 to 1991.5. I didn't know this either till i came across it in the 14bolt bible. Thanks a lot guys as usual, i'll check out TSM.... Later
