Hey, long time since last update, the goings been slow lately but a lot has been done in the past few days.
Remember that old 350?
Well we gave it a little tlc and it looks great, also replaced the fuel pump oil filter tv cable harmonic dampener headers power steering pump and engine mounts.
The trans is back from getting beefed up. And they're bolted together. Longer dowel pins where used which squared it up great, had to put long bolts in and use them to pull the trans into the engine due to the new pins being so machined to fit the holes. Also, got the shocks in the mail. Of course after waiting 3 weeks they sent the incorrect valving, 170 by ??. They where used to square up the ford towers and bolt the inboarding kit ( from diy4x ) in. QUESTION : can these softer shocks be run without a lot of problems, we are dying to get this thing running and the last thing we want is to wait 4 weeks for different shocks.
Also got the brakes, and almost fuel lines squared away.
Proportioning valve
Bolted the ord sway disconnect kit, and new sway bushings in.
Got a new rubber trans mount. QUESTION: The military rear bumper tow clamp, does this work well for pulling people out who are stuck? I am a little skeptical after seeing that it doesn't bolt to the frame in places that seem strong. Like behind the gas tank on that crossmember, it bends easily.
Anyway, in the following weeks we need to get the electrical mess worked out, and do interior work such as weld floors together. Also need to bolt the tcase up (no gasket for it on us atm).
