Blazer build with pics

stuck

Well went wheeling again in some backwoods. I tried a deep hole that was dug out from 44's and stopped dead. Went into the hole and ran straight into a wall of mud about 4 feet high.. My buddy who ignored my warning to put his seat belt on flew forward and nailed his head on the roll cage also but he was alright just had a big egg on his forehead that night.Ok so throw it in reverse and back out, after not budging fowards or backwards I was stuck in some soupy mud at the bottom of some big ruts. What was I thinking, a jeep grand cherokee didn't even budge me... then a fellow k5 broke 2 nylon straps and a chain. It was about 12 at night before we got some tougher straps and yanked me out. So I was stuck a good 6 or 7 hours. Well I learned not to rely on a jeep and bring a good tow strap hah. All in all a fun day. Rausch creek trip soon hopefully. I'll bring an actual camera for that.

hey, how much up travel did you set your shocks at. i have the exact same ones and doing the same thing...

also now look at drivtrain goodies, and maybe a winch for your stuck situations...:D

nice stuck.i havent been in mud that deep since paragon was open.that was also the last time i had the blazer legally on the road.im still workin on gettin mine dne.havent had time or money to do anything lately and the heats been brutal.
im pretty sure i saw yu over at nazareth park a couple weeks ago.i didnt have time to stop but it looked like your truck.

Not sure just bought the 12 inchers and put em in there with the in boarding kit?

it was probably me at the boro park no one else has a big k5 around here. yeah the heat has been rough, I don't really have much to do to the truck so haven't been working on it lately. saving up some money for something though!

my bodywork is really illin me man i want it to look good but i also want my truck out of the garage.its been rough couple of months.

yeah i hated the bodywork. maybe you can get me and mitch to come up and help for a day haha.
thx for the offer man.the stuff im doin is really just metal work and cut and paste.modded the fenders to fit the tires better and get rid of some rust.overall i just dont have too much time to get out there.got a 70 hour a week job where i dont get home but to sleep, and got 4 kids to spend time with.its hard to get out there and do the work.give me anether month and we will do some winter weelin for sure.if you are goin out to rousch creek that would be fun trip.i went out there on dirtbikes.it was pretty awesome.

Yeah we will go to rausch for sure.

So far the Rust Bullet has been great. The k5 has to, been my daily driver, wheeler, and even used it to tear up some trees and stuff rig.

Gonna have to save up for a while to afford a trans for the cummins. its going to have to be a nv4500, going to need a slave and pedal from a stick chevy and a lot of parts off a 2nd gen dodge. http://coloradok5.com/forums/images/smilies/doah.gif

So , you are planning on putting the 12v into the k5? If so, before you strip, scrap, sell the donor rig make sure you have EVERYTHING you can possibly use off of it.

There is alot of good info on the ve pumped 12v's over at http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/1st-gen-dodge-cummins-89-93-12v-forums/ , they are pretty decent over there, not as cool as CK5ers but, hey you can't have it all ;)

i didnt even know that you were lookin to do that cummins swap.lots of work it looks like.but you already did a lot so itll go good.

Wow your making me look lazy:crazy::DThe cummins swap will be a walk in the park for you.

So I scored a p pumped 97 motor, 97 nv4500, and divorced 205 with driveshafts this weekend. It literally cost all my money 2100 dollars. So I'll be selling the p pumped motor to get some funds back and I'll be using the 4500 for the first gen. The 4500 has 200k miles on it but it works good. What should I replace on the 4500 before reinstalling it?

just spent 4 hours trying to move my motor from gravel to my shed with an engine hoist and some wood planks. So far I have moved about 2 feet. Working on gravel is incredibly frustrating. Hopefully I'll have some pictures of the motor repainted and in the shed tomorrow...

good deal man.mines almost ready for a shakedown run.im hopin to register it again next week.hows yours runnin?i got a fried with a dodge that want to go somewhere,so if you know anywhere close let me know.

well im at a low point rite now the blazer has no motor in it at the moment and i got a powerstroke for 2800 bucks but am already regretting it as it has broke down because of a single fuse, and now its broke down again and i have yet to figure out what it is this was in 2 days by the way.... dont get me wrong its a great truck when it runs, got 24 mpg highway today on a 150 mile round trip then it broke down in a parking lot 10 miles from my house out of the blue.
