Blazer Chalet on craigslist

can you pull the camper off these things?

I think they are awesome! I always wanted to do the burb into a blazer conversion and then bolt a chalet onto it.

Need to get the number off the camper for AZ. To bad some one painted it red.

Need to get the number off the camper....
It's serial #0896, built in 12/76, been for sale since early March. But for as many as I might be able to catch, I do miss others since my search system is no where near perfect, so I won't discourage anyone for alerts about 'em...

True, it can be done, and sometimes has to be done when the trucks are too rusty to save. But there are orphaned camper units scattered around the country, so no particular need to pull a camper unit off a good Blazer. Taking one off is quite a chore, though, and as I mentioned over in this post, ya can't yank 'em loose by tying 'em to a tree.

Don't forget, I do try to keep a reasonably updated map of all the ones for sale around the country, wish I could keep better track of the ones that are gone, but I keep 'em on the lists until I hear otherwise.

Another Blazer/Chalet on Craigslist (in Los Angeles): http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/ctd/3944584839.html

Thanks! Though I'd spotted the ad late Sunday night & emailed the seller via the temp Craigslist addy, I hadn't gotten a response, so I called. It's at a towing company 'dealership', the guy said the "John" contact in the ad hasn't worked there in a long time, and then said this thing was in an AutoTrader ad, which I can't find.

He says it is serial #1781, built in 12/76.

Good to know -

PM me if you need me to swing by the place, I'd be more than happy to. It's only 5-10 mins from my in-laws...

Found another one for you. I didn't see it listed on the FS list that was recently updated. Supposedly this one is S/N #0302. I asked for pics but he said he didn't have any for some reason. Anyone in the Tucson area want to check out a Chalet for me?:dunno::D

It's just the camper, no :k5: with it.

My thanks to "bubba blazer" above for dropping by the Temple City one and confirming its serial # & VIN.

I'll have to add that one to the map in my next update. I talked to the seller as well, same deal about not having photos. Claimed he knew of a Casa Grande somewhere in CA, but otherwise didn't really want to talk about much since I wasn't a buyer. But I'm wondering if this Tucson one has anything to do with this other ad which was deleted from Craigslist but still shows up here http://tucson.bidbut.com/a,13,54921,--Haul-camper-to-Temecula--Tucson-.htm about hauling a Chalet shell-only away.

Was there ever a factory 4 speed Chalet sold? Was it even available?

Was there ever a factory 4 speed Chalet sold?...
Plausible, if one of the trucks pulled off the line for the conversion was that way to begin with, sorta like one seller claimed he had a factory 454 in his Jimmy Casa Grande. The brochures sez 3-speed or 4-speed on the back page, but I don't offhand think I've run across any that weren't automatics....
